The numbers crunchers at NetProspex released this week a tidy report ranking the most socially-savvy companies, across a few quantitative metrics. Data from their own sources was mashed together with info from social data provider Rapleaf, ranking social activity among employees of large companies. EMC checks-in at #16 on the “Social 50″ rankings.
A couple thoughts…
It’s great that someone is taking notice of companies embracing the social space. 2010 continues to be a watershed year for social adoption. We’ll see a lot in the space as the economy continues to grow as marketing spend and other efforts find value across social channels.
This report “counts” the most social of employees. Not sure this is the best metric, but at this relatively young age for social enterprises, it’s gratifying for a company like EMC that embraces employee bloggers and sees the social networks as a place to talk business.
